Becky's Mud Puddle Photos

Here are my photos from the other evening.  I can't say that I love them, although I think it has to do with the ugly yellow hue of the mud more than anything else.  Photographing nature isn't really my thing, but it's always fun to get outside one's comfort zone!

I used a very shallow depth of field, around f/2, to try to really bring the focus to the reflection and not the mud.  Do you think it was too shallow?  Should I have kept a bit more texture to the mud?

The second one is my favorite.  I think I like the composition the best.

  1. I like the last one best. I love the colors and how the puddles seem to frame the branches. Who would think mud could be beautiful?

  2. I have to agree with Helen. I like that last one best. It looks as if the trees are woven in and out of the mud. And the golden color of the trees is a great contrast to the dull grey of the mud.

  3. I like the second one best, focused on the trees.
